It is important to us that kids have the best possible dental experiences. Around the age of 3 is usually a good time for children to become acquainted with the sights and sounds of the dental office. We encourage kids to come back to the treatment room by themselves so we can give them an opportunity to interact one on one with the staff. At the first visit, we will introduce them to the various ways we can help keep their teeth healthy and happy. Dr. Miller and the staff will count the developing teeth, provide toothbrushing instruction and help your child to take pride in his or her smile. Each child is encouraged to proceed at his or her own comfort level and this will determine the type of services provided at the first visit.
A professional cleaning appointment is different for every individual. The typical time interval between cleaning for healthy patients without gum (periodontal) disease is usually six months. Those needing periodontal maintenance due to gum disease may be advised to return after three to four months.
When dental emergencies arise, we will respond to your problem promptly. During regular office hours, call us as early as possible so we can work you into the schedule. After hours, you may leave a message to have your call returned.
